Cyndi is a Pre-K teacher at Beebe Elementary School and is currently in her 13th year of teaching. She resides in Searcy with her husband of 15 years and two daughters, ages 5 and 10. Cyndi graduated from Walnut Ridge High School and received a BSE in Elementary Education and Masters in Reading from Harding University. Cyndi achieved National Board Certification in 2003 in the area of Early Childhood Generalist and serves as a volunteer court appointed special advocate (C.A.S.A.) for children in White County.

Karen Mullenix is current ATNBC Public Relations Chairperson. She has also served as secretary and president for the organization. Karen received her BSE from Arkansas State University and her MS from the University of Central Arkansas. A library media specialist in Nettleton School District, she became an NBCT in 2002. She has taught twenty-three years.

Mara is a Clinical Instructor in the College of Education at the University of Central Arkansas (UCA). Before joining UCA, she was a secondary mathematics teacher in the South Conway County School District. She certified in AYA Math in 2003, and has been an assessor for NBPTS in Chicago for the online assessment and in Tulsa for video entries. Mara is a multiple winner of Who's Who Among American High School Teachers. She was also recognized as a "Teacher of Honor" by Kappa Delta Pi, an international honor society in education. However, Mara's most prized award is a 35-year marriage to David Cawein and consequently nine of the best grand-children ever. (Coincidentally, there are also 3 children and 3 in-laws.)
Christy Waire, Historian

Library Media Specialist Cristy Waire has worked in the Pangburn School District for over 15 years. Waire received a liberal arts degree from Arkansas State University at Beebe, a bachelors of arts in elementary education from Harding University in Searcy, and a masters of science in library media from the University of Central Arkansas. Waire became a National Board Certified Teacher in 2008. She has been married to her husband, Rick, for 28 years and has been blessed with two children and three wonderful grandchildren. Waire is currently a Technology Infused Education Cadre member and enjoys teaching technology professional development classes.

Vera is the senior counselor at Nettleton High School in Jonesboro. She became an NBCT in 2003 in CTE and taught business technology for 13 years before becoming a school counselor. She was named Arkansas Teacher of the Year Finalist in 2005 and has also been named National FBLA Middle Level Advisor of the Year and received the Radio Shack National Teacher Award.
Vera served as treasurer and vice-president of ATNBC before serving as president. She has been married to Steve for 27 years and they have a daughter and son in college.

Friga is a licensed Middle level and Secondary Social Studies Teacher and has taught 11 years as a public school educator in the Junior High/High School Social Studies department for the Pottsville School District in Pottsville, AR. She is currently going into her 4th year at the University of Central Arkansas as an Instructor I and Internship II Supervisor in the Department of Teaching and Learning--College of Education. Amy Jones achieved national board certification in 2008. Her certification is in Early Adolescence through Young Adulthood Career and Technical Education. She teaches Junior High Career Orientation and Senior High Business Courses at Brookland Junior/Senior High School.
Terri French, Public Relations

Terri is an Early Childhood Special Education therapist (teacher) and consultant for teachers. She works for Pulaski Co. Tri-District Early Childhood Program and serves North Little Rock, Little Rock, and Pulaski Co. School Districts. She works with 3-5 year old children that have language, cognitive, and sensory delays, as well as behavior problems. She also works with teachers on classroom strategies that can better meet children's needs with delays. She has been teaching for 19 years and has taught all grades and in different settings such as self-contained, resource, inclusion English, and behavior classrooms. Terri graduated from Brinkley High School and received a BSE in Special Education from UCA with a minor in psychology. She then received a Masters from UALR in Severe/Profound Mentally Challenged. She achieved National Board Certification in 2009.

Nancy Fancyboy became a national board certified teacher in 2007. Her certification area is Literacy: Reading and Language Arts (Early and Middle Childhood). She currently teaches 1st grade in Beebe Schools. Nancy is chair of the Legislative Issues Committee.

Clara Carroll, Ed.D. is Chair of Graduate Studies in Education and Associate Professor at Harding University in the College of Education. She achieved National Board Certification in 2003 and since 2000, she has led more than 500 educators through the National Board Certification process. She has received the Advocate for Education Award presented in 2006 by the Arkansas Association for Professional Teachers and the Distinguished Teacher Award from Harding University. She has made presentations at the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards national conferences, provides extensive consultant expertise for school districts and has a passion for supporting educators in reaching their dreams. Clara lives in Searcy with her husband of 31 years, Charlie - they have 1 married daughter and a daughter in her senior year of college.
